Hi, I’m Catriona—mum of five and a primary school teacher with over 20 years of experience, specialising in literacy.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve supported children both in and out of the classroom, with a particular focus on those who struggled with reading, spelling, and writing. I’ve seen first-hand how much progress children can make with the right support—and how empowering it is when parents feel confident helping at home.
Tutoring can be a huge expense, and I truly believe that with a little guidance, parents can provide that same support themselves, in a way that works around busy family life. My husband often says, “I don’t know how to help—I’m not a teacher,” but with simple, step-by-step activities and built-in tips, he can—and so can you.
That’s why I created ParentEd NI—to give parents the tools they need to support their child’s learning at home. Our resources are practical, evidence-based, and designed to build confidence in key literacy skills, without the overwhelm or the high price tag.
