Lesson 3: Silent e, R-controlled Vowels & Comprehension (Copy)

Lesson 3:

This week, we will keep building our spelling and comprehension skills.

• We’ll explore more jobs of Silent e, learning how this clever letter changes the sound and meaning of words.

• We’ll investigate R-controlled vowels (like ar, er, ir, or, ur) and see how the letter r changes the vowel sound.

• In reading, we’ll practise spotting different types of comprehension questions — literal (right there in the text), inferential (read between the lines), and critical (what do I think?).

• We’ll also enjoy more word stories, discovering where words come from and how they are linked to others in their family.
