Pencil Grip
A strong tripod pencil grip gives children the best chance of writing comfortably, neatly and efficiently. By holding the pencil with the thumb, index finger and middle finger, the small muscles in the hand can work together while the ring finger and little finger provide stability. This allows children to form letters more accurately, write for longer without tiring, and develop the control needed for fluent handwriting. While every child develops at their own pace, encouraging an efficient tripod grip early can make writing feel easier and help build confidence in the classroom.
